Cold and Broke

San Jose del Cabo, B.C.S.

“What can I say except it’s Christmas and we’re all miserable.”

While Ellen Griswald is a little more jaded than most of us, she is right in some regard.  The cold snapped so quick that turtles began hurling themselves on the beach, the trout high tailed it to some spot which I can’t find and the expense of gifts and travel has made the normal thin line between the red and black more of a blood red here at “the notes” household (no, no link to my bank account).  So, my wife and I scrounged together gift certificates and loose change and agreed that the house is indeed falling down around us at a rate we can’t afford; so the best thing to do would be to spend that money on a trip to some place warm. As it turns out, a very good friend is getting married in the Dominican Republic in February. As it turns out, the Dominican Republic has good surf, and that usually in February.  Travelocity gift certificates are redeemable in the Dominican Republic.  Right on.

Travel and a warm location are the subject of the new page. Give it a read and enjoy.  A First Surf Trip.

“We’re all gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny fucking Kaye!”

Right on Clark.
